Post Nomination Shortlisting Process
By submitting your entry, you have taken a significant step toward being recognized among the best of the best in your field.
Phase 1: Administrative Validation
The first step involves a thorough check of your submitted data. Our team ensures that:
- All mandatory fields and supporting documents are present.
- The information provided meets the fundamental entry requirements for your chosen category.
Phase 2: Preliminary Benchmarking
Our internal screening committee reviews all validated entries against core eligibility criteria. During this phase, aspirants are evaluated on:
- Evidence of Impact: The tangible results and reach of your work within the nation or globally.
- Evidence of Achievements: The strength and quality of the data provided to support your achievements.
- Compliance: Strict adherence to the professional standards and ethics expected by our institution.
Phase 3: Expert Panel Evaluation
Top entries from the preliminary stage are forwarded to an independent jury composed of industry experts and academic leaders. They apply a weighted scoring system based on the following pillars:
- Innovation: The originality of your contributions or the excellence of your unique approach.
- Impact: The measurable positive change you have created on a national or global scale.
- Consistency: A proven track record of high performance throughout the Year-in-review.
Phase 4: Announcement of the Shortlist
The final list of shortlisted aspirants becomes our official Nominees. This list is compiled based on the highest aggregate scores from the Expert Panel.
- Official Notification: All shortlisted candidates (Nominees) will receive a formal nomination approval email.
- Public Recognition: The names of those who have made the shortlist will be published on our official website and social media channels.
- Next Steps: Shortlisted individuals (Nominees) will receive further instructions regarding the final voting phase and the award ceremony details.
The TOP Africa Awards committee maintains strict confidentiality throughout the process. Decisions made by the jury at the shortlisting stage are final and based solely on the merits of the submitted documentation and verified applicant impacts.

Submission Protocols and Agreements
- Information Accuracy: Applicants are responsible for the veracity of all provided data. The TOP Africa Awards reserves the right to disqualify any candidate found to have provided misleading information.
- Confidentiality: All submitted materials are handled with the utmost discretion and are used solely for the purpose of candidacy evaluation.
To help you prepare a successful application, please ensure you have the following items ready before you begin. Having these documents and videos organized will ensure a smooth submission process.
Pre-Submission Checklist
- Update CV/Resume: Ensure all mentioned philanthropy and achievements falls within the Year-In-Review
- Detailed Statement of Achievement: Draft your word summary, max 300 in a separate document first to ensure it highlights specific results within the Year-In-Review
- Consolidated Evidence File: Ensure all your video evidence are ready in Google - drive and must not exceed 80 MB. Zip to reduce size.
- Tangible Evidence: Collate verifiable proof of philanthropy, or achievements, including letters of appreciation from beneficiaries, awards certificates, official endorsements, and related documents issued or obtained locally or internationally.
Important Notes
Vetting Accuracy: The committee cross-references all data. Ensure dates and titles in your statement match your supporting documents and fall within the Year-In-Review.
